Mel Herbert

Mel Herbert is neither tall nor handsome. Nor is he the best speaker on the circuit, yet he is very well known in Emergency Medicine education circles. How can this be, you ask? It just goes to show how an accent and a penchant for saying “poop” can get you to the top.
Dr. Herbert is the owner/editor of EMRAP, a very successful audio series. He is the creator and chairman of Essentials of Emergency Medicine, one of the largest general Emergency Medicine conferences in North America. He has developed a large number of online education series in both video and audio formats. He has received far more awards than he deserves (please see above regards the use of the word “poop”). He has a passion for education and finding new ways to present information that is both relevant and fun. He has been called an innovator and the “King of EM multimedia education”. He has also been called other words that cannot be repeated outside a jailhouse or on immersion from ketamine sedation.
